POLLUTION IN RIVERS.

The level of pollution in rivers 

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) State Pollution Control Boards of the country's 28 states and 6 union territories along 445 rivers in 1275 is monitoring water quality at various locations.
Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) 121 rivers in the country based on the standards of CPCB has identified 150 contaminated sites. Anaupcharit is considered the largest source of pollution in rivers.
      A study conducted by CPCB in 2009-10 was in the range - the cities and class - two cities daily 38 254 million liters of sewage is born while refining their available capacity of 11 787 million liters per day. Union Forest and Environment Minister Dr. M. Veerappa Moili a written reply in the Lok Sabha today informed.
