Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi CM
Arvind
Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi resigned on 14 February 2014. He resigned
following his government failure to muster the support over whether the Jan
Lokpal Bill should be presented before the House or not. 42 MLAs voted against
the bill whereas only 27 members favoured it.
The decision of resignation was announced by him after a cabinet
meeting. He sent his resignatiom to LT. Governor Nejeeb Jung within 48 days
after he became the Chief Minister of Delhi.
Kejriwal in his announcement said that his cabinet has recommended
the lieutenant
governor Najeeb Jung to dissolve the Legislative Assembly and to hold
fresh elections.
